Winter Highlights

The Snow Garden run by the Swiss Ski and Snowboard School Klosters is just 200 metres from the Parkhotel Silvretta. The Snow Garden has been designed to meet the needs of youngsters. A child-safe small lift, a flat belt lift, fantasy figures to ski around and a roundabout make children’s first encounters with skiing easy and lots of fun.

The main aims of learning by playing are:

• Becoming familiar with the snow and skis
• Moving around with the unaccustomed equipment
• Walking, turning and climbing up gentle terrain
• Side-slipping and skiing with parallel skis

If our young guests of age 3 upwards only want to spend the morning in the Snow Garden they are welcome to join the other children in the hotel’s Flipper Club for the afternoon. With prior notice we can also arrange for our childminder to pick up children from the Snow Garden and bring them safely back to the hotel.

Many generations of skiers started skiing on the Ski lift Heid. It is the perfect gentle slope for beginners of all ages. It is located on a sunny slope near the centre of Klosters and is ideal for skiers and snowboarders to practise their first turns.

The Ski lift-Heid also has a small adventure park for children and families where you can rent and try out new types of ski equipment, e.g. airboards, snowskates, etc. Fun is to be had by all at this all-weather attraction.

The Madrisa mountain located in Klosters-Dorf is the second most popular skiing area in Klosters. It is known as being a”family-friendly” mountain and the many attractions it has to offer makes it a summer and winter paradise for people of all ages. It is on the south-facing side of the valley and affords spectacular views of the Prättigau valley. The ski slopes are located on the sun deck at the summit where the gentle terrain makes the runs particularly suitable for beginners and less advanced skiers.

An exciting adventure park, Kids’ Land at the Madrisa summit is a major tourist attraction with a host of winter activities. Visit the themed fantasy world with mystical, mythological figures or head for the attractions such as the snow tube, climbing and balancing features, be whisked away on the magic carpet, ski down the slalom course or race down the speed run against the clock. Holders of valid sport passes have free admission to Kids’ Land (children up to 6 are free).

Your children (0 to 6 years) can be left under the supervision of our qualified staff in the Stutzli Children’s Club, open daily from 9.30 to 4 p.m., with lunch if requested. This service costs CHF 10.00 per hour (or part thereof), lunch costs CHF 8.00.

Parents are required to bring their children in person to the summit station of the Madrisa. This means that the Kids’Club is primarily for parents who intend skiing on the Madrisa slopes. Please note that the Madrisa ski runs do not connect up with the other skiing areas in the Davos & Klosters region.

You can sign up your children for ski courses at the Swiss Ski and Snowboard School desk in our hotel lobby. The ski school has courses tailored to the needs of skiers and snowboarders of all levels.

If you book a ski course your children can use our complimentary transfer bus service to the Heid ski lift or to the meeting point at the bottom of the Madrisa cable car. Just register your children at reception the evening before and we will make sure they are taken to their ski course and picked up afterwards. On their return they can either go into the Flipper Club or join their waiting parents in the hotel foyer.
