67. ITF Swiss Seniors Klosters
Seniors have also been playing for world-ranking points for a number of years. As the tournament in Klosters is classified as Grade 1 with many points to be won, the standard of players is of course correspondingly high. And so, this year we can again welcome to Klosters many top players from all over the world. The best Swiss players will also be on court although experience shows that they will find the foreign competition very tough. Matches will be played in a total of 18 categories, with prize money of around CHF 13,000 shared among the best in each category.
The tournament starts on Sunday, August 2, with the oldest competitors. The level at which the over-80s still play is amazing. Speed and athleticism are replaced by finesse and perception. At the beginning of the week, players in the 55+ to 65+ category will wield their rackets before the 35+ to 50+ players appear in Klosters towards the end of the week.
